What this policy covers

This Privacy Policy describes information handling on trace.io and www.trace.io, including product demonstrations, demo requests, and the website’s question feature. “Trace,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operator of this website.

This website is a product showcase. Visiting it does not create a customer account or connect your business systems. Information processed inside a customer workspace, through an integration, or by a production agent is governed by the applicable service agreement, data processing terms, and product privacy notice. If your organization uses Trace, contact its administrator for information about how it manages your data.

Information involved in your visit

  • Technical request information. Loading the website sends information such as your IP address, requested URL, browser and device information, and request time to our hosting infrastructure. Depending on your browser settings, a referring page may also be included. Hosting services may process request and error logs to deliver and secure the website.
  • Demo requests and correspondence. The demo-request form asks for your name, work email, company, website, business type, company size, approximate monthly loads, and optional notes. It prepares an email addressed to the Trace team in your email application. The website does not itself send the form entries to Trace; we receive them if you send the email.
  • Questions you submit. The website can answer some questions from its published content in your browser. When you request an available AI answer, your question and the relevant page identifier are sent to our answer service and to Anthropic to generate a response.
  • Analytics preferences and usage. When optional Google Analytics is configured and you allow it, it receives page-view and interaction information, such as the page path, page title, and a demo-request intent event. Your analytics choice is remembered in browser local storage.

The product demonstrations use illustrative data and do not connect to your business accounts. Please do not enter passwords, confidential shipment records, payment details, or sensitive personal information into demonstrations or website questions.

How information is used

Information associated with website visits and direct inquiries is used, as applicable, to:

  • Deliver website pages and remember your analytics preference.
  • Identify technical problems, protect availability, and investigate misuse.
  • Respond to a question or business inquiry that you initiate.
  • Generate an answer to a website question and, with your permission, understand website usage through optional analytics.
  • Meet applicable legal requirements and address disputes or security incidents.

Where consent is required for a particular use, it must be obtained for that use. Reading this policy or browsing the website does not by itself constitute consent to unrelated marketing or processing of sensitive information.

Cookies and browser storage

When Google Analytics is configured, the website asks whether to allow it before loading the analytics script. You can choose “Decline,” or later use “Turn analytics off” to withdraw your permission for subsequent analytics collection. The choice is stored under “trace-analytics-consent” in your browser’s local storage.

If you allow analytics, Google Analytics may use cookies and device or usage information to measure visits. The website’s configuration disables advertising personalization and Google Signals. Its analytics events do not include your demo-form entries or question text, and page URLs sent by the site omit query strings and fragments.

You can clear cookies and local storage using your browser’s site-data controls. Withdrawing analytics permission does not automatically delete cookies already stored or information previously collected. Clearing site data removes the saved preference, so the website may ask again. You can continue reading the site when you decline analytics.

Service providers and disclosures

The website is hosted using Vercel. Hosting and delivery providers necessarily process technical information to serve requests and protect their infrastructure. You can learn about Vercel’s own practices in its Privacy Notice.

Anthropic processes questions forwarded by the AI answer feature. Google processes optional analytics information when you permit analytics. Their own privacy information is available in Anthropic’s Privacy Policy and Google’s Privacy Policy. Processing on Trace’s behalf is also subject to the applicable service terms and data processing arrangements.

If you communicate with Trace, the communication provider used for that conversation may process the message and contact information. Information may also be disclosed where legally required, to respond to a valid legal request, or where necessary to investigate misuse or protect legal rights.

A third-party logo or integration example on this website does not by itself give that provider access to your business accounts. Following an external link takes you to a service with its own privacy practices.

Retention and security

Different information has different retention needs. Your analytics preference remains on your device until cleared or replaced. Hosting and analytics records are subject to the applicable provider settings. Business correspondence may need to be retained for the inquiry, an ongoing relationship, or applicable legal and recordkeeping obligations.

The website’s answer service uses temporary IP-based request counters to limit abuse. Its application logs record request status, the page identifier, question length, response time, and error categories, rather than the question text or answer. The AI provider may retain submitted content under its applicable terms and policies; this website does not make a zero-retention or data-residency promise for that provider.

No internet transmission or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure. Avoid sending sensitive personal information, passwords, or confidential freight documents through public demonstrations or unsolicited messages.

International processing

Hosting and communication providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Privacy laws and government access rules may differ between countries. Any transfer obligations applicable to customer product data should be addressed in the relevant service and data processing agreements; this website policy does not establish a data residency commitment for those products.

Your choices and rights

You can control browser storage, limit information you provide, and stop using optional demonstrations. Depending on your location and applicable law, you may also have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, withdraw consent, object to or restrict certain processing, or receive a portable copy.

These rights can be subject to identity verification and legal exceptions. You may also have the right to raise a concern with the privacy regulator in your jurisdiction. For information held in a customer workspace, contact the organization responsible for that workspace.

Children’s privacy

The website and its business product demonstrations are intended for a professional audience and are not directed to children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Trace, contact admin@trace.io so it can be investigated.

Updates and privacy questions

We may update this policy when the website or its information handling changes. The date above identifies the latest revision. Where a change requires additional notice or consent under applicable law, updating this page alone does not replace that requirement.

For privacy questions or requests, contact admin@trace.io with “Privacy request” in the subject line. If you are a customer, you can also use the privacy or support contact in your service agreement. Include the nature of your request and enough context to identify the relevant interaction, without including passwords or unnecessary sensitive information.

Our Terms & Conditions explain the rules for using this website.
